SECONDARY SUITE TO MASTER SUITE

After purchasing their home, these homeowners had dreams of reclaiming the secondary suite to create an open and spacious Master Suite. The team at Winston Brown Remodeling of Topeka and Lawrence, KS helped bring this dream to life. With such a dramatic transformation - the homeowners were amazed at how the space had so much more potential than they originally thought and absolutely love the outcome.

Before

The secondary suite was originally outfitted with a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and closet. It had independent access to and from the main home.

After

Walls were moved to create an entry hall leading to the master bathroom, master closet, and master bedroom. A spacious walk in closet was created and custom tailored to the homeowner's organization needs.

Walls were removed and the ceiling was lifted to create a bright and open master bathroom. A freestanding tub with shiplap accent wall compliments the large walk in shower. Cabinetry was selected in a light oak to coordinate with all the other neutral selections. Large gray tile in a herringbone pattern grounds the space. All faucets are in a matte black finish, enhancing the sophisticated lighting selections over the double vanity mirrors and the tub.

In the master bedroom, the existing brick accent wall was painted white to blend into the look and feel of the airy space. Original large windows showcase the beautiful wooded view. A new floor to ceiling fireplace was installed to serve as a partition between the sitting and sleeping spaces, while giving ambiance to both. White oak flooring was used throughout to tie both spaces together. Finally, another chandelier completes the cozy sitting room.
